Before joining TNC, she served with Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute as an Oncology-Hematology hospitalist nurse practitioner at UF Health’s The Villages Hospital.

Maya grew up in a Christian home that instilled in her the value of service to the community. As a result, she decided to serve by becoming a nurse. She completed her Associate’s in Nursing in 2013, and in 2016, she completed her Bachelor’s in Nursing, earning cum laude from Adventist University of Health and Sciences. Maya worked as a nurse within the stroke and neurology unit at UF Health Leesburg Hospital for seven years.

Maya attended South University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in the beautiful city of West Palm Beach, FL. In 2019, she graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing. Among several clinical rotations during her graduate studies at South University, she received training from the Pediatric Neurology Clinic of Palm Beach, caring for pediatric patients with seizures and headaches.

Maya has lived in Florida for most of her life and loves the small-town city vibe of Tallahassee. She enjoys rowing, Frisbee, and spending time with her husband and family.
