Kristen Zanlunghi is the newest APRN to join our team. Kristen grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. She Received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After receiving her nursing degree, Kristen worked in the postpartum and ICU departments. She then became an ICU travel nurse before returning home to Alabama. Kristen was feeling the urge for a change in direction so she went into the UAB CVOR as a scrub nurse.
While working as a scrub nurse in Alabama, she decided to further her academic studies and enrolled in the Masters Nursing program at University of Alabama with a concentration in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner studies. Due to her school schedule she decided to go into an area with more stable hours and transitioned to the PACU at UAB. During this time, she also worked as a home health nurse serving home bound patients in the local community. Before finishing her Masters degree, Kristen returned to travel ICU nursing in Indiana.
Kristen loves working with her patients and strives to give the best care possible. In her free time, she enjoys spending time participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, SCUBA diving, and going to the beach. Traveling is also a large part of her life, experiencing other people and cultures. Kristen loves the beach and always dreamed of living closer to it. That is one of the things that drew her to the Tallahassee area. Kristen also enjoys her annual snow ski trip with her dad. Her family is the most important thing to her and she wants to treat her patients as she would want her own family to be cared for.
