Dr. Joshua Fuhrmeister was born and raised in Iowa and graduated with high honors in Biomedical Engineering before entering medical school at the University of Iowa. He completed his anesthesiology residency at The University of Florida where he earned the Resident Teacher of the Year Award in 2003. During his last year of residency he trained for 6 months at the VA pain management clinic and this is when he decided to pursue pain management as a career. Dr. Fuhrmeister then entered the fellowship program for Pain Management at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He joined Tallahassee Neurological Clinic’s Division of Pain Management in 2006 and was named the director for the Tallahassee Memorial Center for Pain Management in 2013. Dr. Fuhrmeister has established himself as a compassionate, knowledgeable physician who exceeds the standard of care for his patients alongside a team of reliable and dedicated health care professionals to assist him in all aspects of patient care.
