Malinda Folkert joined Tallahassee Neurological Clinic in 2022. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University in 2018. Her nursing career began at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH), working on the Neurology/Neurosurgery floor and the Neurology/Neurosurgery Intermediate Care Unit. It was here that her passion for nursing and the neurological patient population grew.
In addition to earning her Bachelor of Science degree at Florida State, Malinda also completed her Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Florida State University in May 2022. During her graduate career, Malinda served as a Teaching Assistant to the undergraduate nursing program at Florida State University and extended her nursing experience into the pediatric population, working at TMH within the pediatric unit. She is licensed by the State of Florida as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Malinda works with the stroke team and plays a vital role in providing timely and high-quality neurosurgical care for stroke patients. Her responsibilities include immediate response to all stroke patients in the hospital and assisting with hospital rounds and consultations.
Malinda grew up in Southeast Missouri until she was nine years old. She then moved with her family to Panama City, Florida, and was a graduate of A. Crawford Mosley High School. She moved to Tallahassee in 2015 for college, and it was here that she met her husband. She credits her mother as her inspiration for pursuing a nursing career, as her mother has been nursing since 1991. She enjoys traveling, baking, reading, and spending time with her family, including her many nieces/nephews
