Born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa, Dr. Fuhrmeister completed his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Dr. Fuhrmeister completed his internship and residency at the University of Florida. While in his second year of Anesthesiology Residency, he was named Resident Teacher of the Year. Following his residency, Dr. Fuhrmeister completed a Fellowship program in Pain Management at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Joshua Fuhrmeister joined the Tallahassee Neurological Clinic, Division of Pain Management practice in 2006 and has provided quality interventional pain management care in the Big Bend region.
Dr. Fuhrmeister performs numerous procedures including:

- Medial Branch Blocks
- Radiofrequency Ablations
- Spinal Cord Stimulation Trials
Because Dr. Fuhrmeister works diligently to find and treat the cause of his patients pain, he has established himself as a compassionate, knowledgeable physician who exceeds the standard of care for his patients. As such, Dr. Fuhrmeister has built a team of reliable and dedicated health care professionals to assist him in all aspects of patient care.
Dr. Fuhrmeister is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. In addition, he belongs to the Florida Medical Association and the American Academy of Pain Management.
When not at work, Dr. Fuhrmeister enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
