Albert Lee, M.D.
Dr. Albert Lee brought his special talents to Tallahassee Neurological Clinic in May 2004, after spending the previous two years in practice in Naples, FL. Dr. Lee is assisted by Chad Linville, ARNP.
Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate education in biology at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. He attended Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating with honors. He was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Lee continued his post-graduate training as a general surgery intern and a neurosurgical resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Boston, MA. He remained there on staff for six months after serving as chief resident in the residency program.
Dr. Lee is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. In addition, he holds a Faculty appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida State University, College of Medicine. Dr. Lee—along with Dr. Walter Koroshetz, a former colleague from Massachusetts General Hospital—hold a US Patent for inventing a method and apparatus for thermally affecting (manipulating temperatures of) living tissue. More specifically, their technique is effective in cooling brain tissue. In July 2006, Dr. Lee performed a Lumbar Disc Replacement procedure at TMH, marking the first time this procedure had been performed in Florida.
In his surgical practice, Dr. Lee has a particular special interest in the minimally invasive techniques of lumbar and spine surgery. He remains interested in many of the new exciting innovations aimed at reducing pain and post-surgical healing time. Dr. Lee has developed a reputation as a sincere, highly skilled physician who has a genuine concern for the well being of his patients.
He performs numerous procedures, including:
- Brain and spinal surgeries
- Minimally invasive spinal fusions
- Peripheral nerve surgery
- Pituitary surgery
- Kyphoplasty for compression fractures
- Surgery for trigeminal neuralgia
Dr. Lee spends his free time with his family, traveling, golfing, and attending FSU athletic events. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and scuba.
